Real Madrid have beaten off competition from rivals Barcelona to land 11-year-old American Joshua Pynadath.
The youngster spent time on trial at both clubs but opted for a move to the Spanish capital after being offered the chance to join Madrid's famed youth setup.
They have secured the talented attacker on a minimum one-year deal to join their academy this autumn.

Pynadath becomes the first American to join Madrid's youth system, which has produced the likes of Los Blancos legends Iker Casillas, Raul and Guti.
Madrid were initially alerted to the player's potential by Jeff Baicher, the technical director of Pynadath's current team, De Anza Force Soccer Club.
Baicher sent Real officials a video highlighting the youngster's dribbling, passing and shooting skills a year ago and it was enough to convince the club to invite him for a week of training in late November.
The attacker, from Los Altos Hills in California, did enough to earn an extended trial earlier this year and also attracted interest from another Spanish giant, Barcelona.
He spent 17 days at Barca's famed La Masia academy but was then offered a chance to join Madrid's Alevin A Team.
Joshua told the Los Altos Town Crier: 'Both trials were very serious, as kids are fighting to either keep a spot or to earn a spot.
'It was a very good feeling to be able to play well against this top competition since the level and speed of play over there is amazing.

'I was blown away when I got the official news from Real Madrid.
'They told me that I was the first American that they have ever accepted into their academy. I told them that I would set a good example.'
On his time spent with Madrid's rivals, the Cristiano Ronaldo fan added: 'I enjoyed my time at Barcelona.
'I was happy to hear the coaches tell me that I was a very good player and that I improved every day of the trial.'
But Joshua, who has just completed fifth grade at St. Nicholas School, was certain which club he wanted to join.

He said: 'The Real Madrid academy team and coaches seemed very excited to have me back. It was like I had never left.
'I can’t wait to get started over there. They already have an amazing team that went 25-1 in their league, so I know that playing with them every day is going to make me that much better.'
Joshua and his family, including younger brother Jason who will play for one of Real's satellite teams, will move to Spain soon. The boys are set to attend the American School of Madrid.

#11 Peter Schmeichel
Schmeichel was a giant in between the sticks during his time in England. Seven years at the service of Manchester United saw him win 5 premier league titles with the Red Devils. Schmeichel was named Goalkeeper of the Year four times. Peter also owns the record for clean sheets to games ratio with an astonishing 42% of his game ending without conceding a goal

#10 Gary Neville
The often-controversial Gary Neville made an astounding 400 league appearances for the Red Devils throughout his career. He was named captain during 5 different seasons and was part of the team of the year 5 times. Neville and the Red Devils clinched eight premier league titles during his tenure.

#9 Rio Ferdinand
Premier League veteran Ferdinand has become the rock of every team he’s played in. Voted into the team of the season six times during his premier league career. While at West Ham he was voted Hammer of the Year, he captained Leed’s in his two seasons with the club and led Manchester United to six premier league titles in just over 300 appearances with the club

#8 John Terry
Terry has become a model of consistency for centre backs across the world. He’s made over 500 appearances for Chelsea, Over 350 in the premier league. John Terry is the club's all-time highest scoring defender. He was named player of the year in 2004-05, and has captained Chelsea to three Premier League titles. Not the most agile of defenders, but for what he lacks in pace he make sup for in tactical awareness and strength.

#7 Ashley Cole
Cole was a staple in the Arsenal side that won two premier league titles and went invincible in that memorable season. However he soon became a traitor in the eyes of Arsenal fans, when he switched London clubs and made his way over to Chelsea where he won another premier league title. Cole possesses great quality in being a firm defender but can also join his team in attack.

#6 Paul Scholes
Possibly the most decorated player that has ever graced the Premier League stage. Scholes made 497 appearances and scored over 100 goals in his 19 years with the Red Devils. His technical ability, one touch football and vision led United to 11 league titles during his time, truly one of the best.

#5 Steven Gerrard
A one club man, and possibly the greatest English midfielder to play the beautiful game. Whether it’s picking out the perfect pass or smashing in a goal from 30 yards out, Stevie G has done it all during his time at Anfield. 450 games and 100 goals later and it appears Gerrard might never win that illustrious Premier league medal, however that will not place a dent in the illustrious career of Gerrard.

#4 Frank Lampard
Lampard has over 650 appearances under his belt, an astonishing 167 goals, and has led the league in assists twice during his career. A fantastic box-to-box midfielder vital to his teams attack and defense Lampard is as good a passer as he is a goal scorer. Frank’s goal scoring tally has been in double figures in the his last 10 seasons.

#3 Cristiano Ronaldo
Arguably the worlds best player, Cristiano’s time with United was phenomenal. In the 6 years he spent at United, he developed from scrawny teenager to world player of the year winner. Just over 196 appearances with United saw him accumulate 84 goals, 3 Premier league titles and 4 team of the year honors. Ronaldo became the most dangerous player in recent Premier league memory, all in such a short time.

#2 Thierry Henry
A menace when played either through the middle or out on the wing Henry had 175 goals in just under 260 appearances, and accumulated double digit goals in each of his 8 seasons with the gunners. Remarkable pace, combined with a great eye for goal saw him constantly win the one-on-one battles and slip through on goal. Henry was an intricate part to the invincible season and has rightly been gifted a statue in his honor outside of the Emirates.

#1 Alan Shearer
Undoubtedly the greatest striker of the Premier League era, Shearer holds the record for Premier League goals with 260 in 441 appearances. Truly a classic centre forward, Shearer was best known for his aggressive play, stature and unmatched strength which allowed him to surpass the 20 goal mark in 7 different campaigns. Shearer was not only a physical menace but he was also a force in the air with 25% of his goals scored from headers. Truly the greatest striker the Premier League has seen.
